Jump In: Pakulo ‘15

“Pakulo” as the name of the activity in which all four units of the ESSU Main Campus had to present live mini-dance performances with energy and liveliness to their second home touched the spirit of spectators to enthusiasm.
Unit II, the Blue Angels which include the Colleges of Education, Arts and Sciences, and the Law and Criminal Justice who danced with vigor and joy from the very beginning till the end of music, grabbed the price as the Best in Pakulo.
On the other hand, Unit I, the Red Dragons of the College of Engineering, School of Vocational Technology, and the College of Computer Studies blew fire with their “We Will Rock You” performance which totally shook off the house, but their moving steps weren’t enough for them to be declared as winners.
Meanwhile, although Units III and IV weren’t able to present their respective dances, that didn’t stop them from enjoying with the rest of the crowd.
A cash prize of P1,000 from Smart was given to the winner.
Other awards presented were Best in Uniform, which Unit II took with their orange and blue print, and Best in Sports Wear for Mr. and Ms. ESSU contestants.
As overall, the “Pakulo” really made the ESSUnians boost their creativity and strengthen the unity of every department because of the overwhelming support of every students toward their representatives.
sent to Guiuan to compete in the Quintuple Meet and ultimately in the SCUAA 2015 which will be held at the Visayas State University in Baybay, Leyte.
During his speech, he stated that this kind of event makes athletes become better and that our University is not making it to the top and to catch and cope up with the wit and empowerment of UEP, EVSU and LNU, which he dubbed as the best schools as far as athletics is concerned, is highly recommended. Also, he commented about the division of different colleges merged into four different units because of the noticeable unequal number of students and that it should not be discriminating with regards to gender for each unit to have fair standing on the different competitions.
Furthermore, he also left an inspiring quote before ending his speech saying that it’s not about winning but how you play the game, so that every athlete will perform well and more importantly, enjoy the competition.
