AACCUP Conducts Virtual 3-Day Accreditation for Multiple Programs at Main and Can-Avid Campuses

The Eastern Samar State University gears up for an intensive three-day accreditation process as the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) conducts virtual assessments of various programs. In compliance with the safety measures during the ongoing pandemic, the Master of Arts in Education Management, Master of Arts in Language Teaching, Master of Arts in Management, and BS in Information Technology programs at the main campus will undergo meticulous scrutiny through Zoom. Simultaneously, the Bachelor of Secondary Education (Majors: Mathematics, Social Science) and Bachelor of Elementary Education programs at the Can-Avid campus will revisit all areas virtually as part of their third survey visit phase 2.

The AACCUP holds a prestigious position in ensuring quality assurance and accreditation of academic programs in the Philippines. While physical visits are temporarily suspended due to the current circumstances, the virtual assessments present an opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to showcase their commitment to academic excellence.

The Master of Arts in Education Management, Master of Arts in Language Teaching, Master of Arts in Management, and BS in Information Technology programs at the main campus have devoted significant time and effort to prepare for the accreditation process. Faculty members have collaborated to enhance curriculum design, update course materials, and align program outcomes with industry demands. This comprehensive assessment will evaluate various aspects, including curriculum quality, faculty qualifications, research output, student support services, and virtual facilities.

At the Can-Avid campus, the Bachelor of Secondary Education (Majors: Mathematics, Social Science) and Bachelor of Elementary Education programs eagerly embrace the virtual revisit of all areas. With a focus on producing competent educators, faculty members have invested substantial effort into curriculum enrichment, innovative teaching methods, and community engagement initiatives.

During the three-day virtual accreditation period, AACCUP evaluators will engage in rigorous discussions with program coordinators, faculty members, and students through the Zoom platform. They will conduct virtual classroom observations, review documentation, and assess the overall quality of the programs. The evaluators will also hold virtual interviews with various stakeholders, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation process despite the physical distance.

University officials express their confidence in the meticulous preparation and dedication of the faculty, staff, and students to upholding the highest standards of education. The virtual accreditation visit provides an opportunity for the institution to further strengthen its programs and ensure they remain at the forefront of academic excellence, even in challenging times.

As the virtual accreditation process commences, the Eastern Samar State University remains steadfast in its mission of providing quality education that nurtures well-rounded individuals, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen fields, even in a virtual learning environment.
