With the intent on intensifying the University’s research agenda, ESSU’s Research and Development Services Office (RDSO) assembled its faculty researchers from the different campuses for a Workshop Seminar on Enhancing University Research Productivity and Faculty Evaluation, at the College of Arts & Sciences Audio-Visual Room (CAS AVR) of the Main Campus on March 14, 2025.
The workshop gathered some of the University’s resident experts in research for a well-informed session meant to elevate the institution’s research goals and outputs. SSAA Dean, Dr. Aris A. Lapada, opened the lectures with his Comprehensive Guide to the Pre-Submission, Submission, and Post-Submission Process of a Research Paper. Dr. Lapada’s talk included pointers on formulating a compelling research structure, high-quality visuals and illustrations, and a strong peer review process.
CASS Dean, Dr. Anbony D. Cuanico, indulged the participants with From Texts to Insights: Understanding Qualitative Data Analysis. In his discussion, Dr. Cuanico gave data coding a clearer interpretation and how to better categorize them for a more scholarly and coherent paper. Meanwhile, Dr. Niel Francis B. Casillano shared inventive means in Machine Learning and Text Mining by taking advantage of AI technology in research data processing, interpretation and presentation.
To complete the said workshop session, RDSO Assistant Director, Dr. Riomar G. Obliopas articulated the institution’s gradual and deliberate measures to manufacture high-quality research and put a premium on qualitative research outputs as the only way to move forward. Furthermore, Dr. Obliopas assured his fellow faculty researchers that the RDSO has an invigorated commitment to pivoting ESSU’s culture of research into this elevated path in order to keep up with the best in the global playing field of research.
