Eastern Samar State University and Cebu Normal University (CNU) marked a significant milestone in higher education collaboration with the Ceremonial Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the President’s Conference Room in ESSU’s Main Campus.
The collaboration aims to foster mutual growth between ESSU and CNU by focusing on collaborative efforts in research, education, and cultural exchange. Key areas of cooperation include academic development, innovation in research, and the integration of modern technology into university programs.
The MOU highlights several strategic initiatives for both institutions, including academic exchange programs, collaborative research projects, and the promotion of digitalization and ICT within the universities. These efforts are designed to elevate the quality of education, enhance instructional delivery, and equip students with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world. By pooling their resources and expertise, ESSU and CNU hope to contribute to the growth of the regional and national educational landscape.
The signing ceremony was attended by ESSU President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., Vice Presidents, College Deans, and Directors, along with a distinguished delegation from CNU. This included CNU President Dr. Daniel A. Ariaso, Sr.; Dr. Jay P. Picardal, Director of the Research Institute for Tropical Biology & Pharmacological Biotechnology; Dr. Marchee T. Picardal, Division Chair of the Translational Research Division at the Institute for Research in Innovative Instructional Delivery; and faculty members Ms. Corrine Trecia Dado and Ms. Jessia May Flores from CNU's Balamban Campus.
